Raid De Himalaya, founded in 1999, was considered one of the most challenging rallies in Asia. It took place annually in October, covering distances of over 2,000 km across the most rugged terrains of Himachal and Ladakh. With altitudes exceeding 18,000 feet and temperatures dropping below freezing, the Raid De Himalaya was not just a race but a battle against nature. Participants had to be prepared for extreme conditions that test both their vehicles and their endurance. The event included multiple categories, such as motorcycles, cars, and SUVs, with separate classes for professional and amateur drivers. Raid De Himalaya stated the scene and set the benchmark to be India’s highest battlefield for motorsports rally. But it got terminated due to some reasons in 2018. After this, motorsports has grown at large scale in Himachal Pradesh, providing talent a stage to be national stars.

2.    Rally of Himalayas

The Rally of Himalayas, started in 2021, is one of the most prestigious and challenging motorsport events of India. It is organized by Himalayan X-treme Motorsports Club which is founded by Veteran Rallyist Suresh Rana. Suresh Rana himself was a Rally Champion who has won many titles including 11 times Raid de Himalayas, 5 times Dessert Storm, 3 times Dakshin Dare, 7 times Sjoba Rally and many more. After the termination of Raid De Himalaya and Desert Storm not being organized for 4 years, Suresh Rana came up with an idea and organized Rally of Himalayas, only cross-country rally that covers the rugged and difficult terrains of Manali and Spiti after Raid De Himalayas. The Rally is organized very year in the month of October. The rally starts from Manali and continues for 4 days. It covers the challenging stages including rugged roads of Sethan, Batal, Gramphu, Kunzum, Sissu, etc. The route of the rally is made by the teams of professional after going on several recces ensuring that the the rout must be difficult but not dangerous for the participants. 3.    Rally of Chamba

Rally of Chamba, started in 2021, is a motorsport rally event that takes place every year in Chamba District. It is organized by Chamba Motorsports Club, an organization associated with FMSCI.  The event covers the area of Pir Panjal Ranges and covers the unexplored and untouched terrains of Sach Pass, Bharmour, Chamba, etc. Earlier it was organized by the club named Brownbear Motorsports and now it is organized under the Chamba Motorsports Club. 4.    Kullu Festival of Speed

Kullu Festival of Speed is an Autocross – Dirtcross event which is going to be organized for the first time by the Himalayan X-treme Motorsports, the organizer of Rally of Himalayas. The event is going to take place on 28-30 November at Dhalpur Ground of Kullu. The event will be the attraction for the motorsports enthusiast. Professional to amateur drivers is going to participate in 2W and 4W category. Whether you are thrill seeker, motorsports enthusiast or  just a tourist who is planning to visit Kullu on these dates, this is an opportunity for them to witness the Motorsporting thrill of Himachal Pradesh.
